Now this mod maybe controversial. Some people might imply that this is cheating and gives unfair advantage but lets consider this, I have been playing dota for like past 4 years, I already know all the juke spots on map, I dont need this mod to tell me location of juke spots. To be honest it even causes problems for those who are already familiar with juke spots. What this mod may achieve is to help the newer players get familiar with juking. Consider it a training mod, its not giving you unfair advantage as the fog of war remains the same, you DO NOT get extra vision with this, just a simple indication that you can hide here or cut a tree to make a path.
As always texture mods are not banable by VAC, even if some nuthead considers this cheating, VAC still cant detect a texture mod so use it without any worries.

when i use this mod, there is a sudden low 20 FPS spike happening in some random intervals during the game. i always got a 50-60 fps w/o this mod. please help me how to fix this!
ReplyDeleteI too have the same problem, but I havent been able to fix it myself as I dont get much freetime.. besides I dont even know if this mod caused the problem. Are you SURE this specifc mod caused the issue?
DeleteI dont really know for sure. I'll try to test it myself. I'll comment here when I am sure that this mod is causing the problem. Thank you and more power to this page!
DeleteI've found out that the mod is not causing the issue. W/o even the mods, it still has sudden FPS spike. :(
DeleteI'll ask around for a unmodified .vpk file. Lets hope that will fix our problem. :)
Deletethank you! i'll be waiting for it. :D
DeleteI wasnt able to fix the problem by new vpk. I have completely deleted dota2 and redownloading it right now. Will let you know what happens next.
DeleteOkay, thank you for the update! This sudden FPS drop is really ruining my game. I hope this can be fixed. Thank you again!
DeleteSo, I deleted dota2, deleted steam. Did clean install of both still doesnt fix the problem. So I can confirm that problem is NOT related to modding in anyway. With that being cleared. I was able to solve it by changing battery performance setting.
DeleteI have this problem on my laptop and I'm assuming you also have play on laptop.
Go to Control Panel > Power Plan > Current Plan settings > Advanced Settings > Processor Power settings.. here change the minimum performance setting (plugged in) to 80% and Maximum performance setting (plugged in) to 90% ...
The issue is dota runs with 100% CPU settings and when GPU sends data, the CPU cant process it due to overload.
I'm playing on a laptop too buut the fix you gave didn't solve the problem because my problem is different. I downloaded a software the checks the temperature of my GPU and when I'm playing dota, the temperature reads 82-84 deg C. I cleaned my laptop and the sudden FPS drop now is gone but I'm taking note of your fix just in case it becomes handy. Thank you again for helping. More power to you and the blog!
DeleteWell my GPU never comes below 89C while playing. As laptop GPU chips can handle upto 105C there's no need for concern there. Still I'm glad you were able to fix your problem.
Deletei use the mod works fine, no red lines though but jukes are still easily noticeable
ReplyDeleteisnt working.. after the latest update..
