1:  Copy mask_of_madness.png and paste it in this folder.
     X:\Steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\resource\flash3\images\items\
2: Go to steam library, rightlick on dota2, click on Launch Options and Type "-override_vpk" without quotes.
3: Run dota2slasher.exe.
4: Enjoy.

Well this was a long, boring and buggy courier to make.

1: First the model refused to decompile.
2: The edited model refused to recompile,
3: Particle files start giving missing particles error.
4: Walking courier stops appearing after I finished mod.
5: Particle effects start appearing on wrong bones.

So after making and testing about 20 mods, here is the end result. Literally spent hours trying to fix the particles appearing behind the courier. Finally managed to fix the normal walking courier only to find that now flying courier's particles are a bit off. Now I dont have any juice left to again mess around with this courier so you have to stick with this one. I may try to fix the flying version maybe in future but I doubt it, it doesnt look too bad anyways.

Also from now on there will be no adfly links. Too many people have problem with that and to be honest I never was interested in earnings anyways. Some one suggested me to use ads to earn extra and that it will be useful in long run but honestly its not worth it to waste other people's time, I will set up a donate button for those who wish to donate, other than that you will get direct links from now on.

For Custom Items: Mention all the items you want in set. For example you might like Mad Harvestor set but want it with DC hook and Hood of Defiance item. Mention all the items and mod will be tailored to your requirements.

Requests for particle Effects: Particle Effects are tricky, and will take time to make and even then they might not be satisfactory (not the exact effect you might want).

This is why you are here. Mods allow you to modify your game in any way you like. Almost EVERYTHING in Dota2 can be modified if you know how. Valve is one of those companies who is full supporter of modding community. To everyone who ever asked me whether these mods are VAC bannable? I tell them to just google for Valve history and and imaginw why would such a stout supporter of modding would actually ban you for modding?
1: It doesnt make sense.
2: Texture replacements (mods on this site) are not detectable by the VAC. Read more about VAC here.

What mods basically do is that they replace the default model files of heroes with the files you specify. For example if I replace model files of common pudge meathook with DragonClaw Hook. Then pudge will be carrying a DC hook (assuming no item is equipped on pudge ingame). Same concept applies to every single mod in this site.

Equipment, or cosmetic items, are items that can be equipped in the loadout menu of the customize tab. They have no effect on gameplay, and exist only to alter the look of the heroes and their abilities. Equipment can be earned in a multitude of ways: they can be randomly found after Matchmaking and Co-op matches, by leveling up through Battle Points, by opening Chests, or by buying them in the Dota 2 Store
Valve introduced the first batch of cosmetic items in the May 31, 2012 Patch, consisting of items for just 14 heroes. Several updates have since added more cosmetic items, expanding to new heroes over time. The majority of the cosmetic items in-game have been designed by members of the Dota 2 community and submitted through the Steam Workshop.
While the cosmetic items bought in the Dota 2 Store and found through the item drop system are all of Standard quality, equipment received from Chests can be of Strange quality, which track different kinds of stats, such as kills or ability related stats. These items otherwise function and look the same as Standard quality equipment.
All equipment is tradable, unless when the equipment has been bought on an account that has had its first Steam purchase less than 30 days ago. In that case, all equipment bought on that account will be untradable for 3 days, after which they become tradable.

I'm not sure how many people will love me for posting it or hate me for it, but there's no harm in testing right? I'll post more models if this gets positive reaction.

So here is the first finished courier with custom particles. This fungal effect was included in couriers unboxed from Treasure of Amanita chest series. This is still the first courier particle mod I have made so if you have any problems with it, like missing textures, red flying Xs, let me know in comments.
                                  As there are A LOT of couriers in Dota (normal couriers have already been posted), combined with so many particle effects, its impossible to create every single courier with every single effect. So if you want a specific courier with specific effect leave your request in comments or leave a message on the Facebook page. As always please try to share this as much as you can within your dota friends, community and pages/leagues you have joined.

Bonus points if you understand the Futurama reference.

After 3 continuous days of compiling errors, qc read failures, decompiling issues, reading technical jargons about particle file system, learning the particle commands and God knows what else, FINALLY managed to apply the particle effects on a courier, in this case Blossom Trail effect. Used the previously made smeevil mod and randomly selected the Stumpy courier for experiment purposes, As this was an experiment so didnt bother with flying stumpy so the end result is "walking courier=stumpy and Flying courier=Smeevil" anyways what matters most is now I finally figured out the method.

                              Some people have been asking about the custom animation for items ingame. The problem with custom animations and particles is that they are complicated and most of the times bugged when used in mods. It doesn't mean its impossible, it just means I'm not skilled enough to make them.
                              I''m not an expert on modding, so now that's outta the way, I would appreciate if someone could teach me how to mess around with particle effects. So far I have'nt been able to find anything on the subject. As soon as I learned it, I will start making content with particles and animations. The previous mods with such particles/animations I were made by others and apparently no one is interested in sharing the knowledge.
                            I also promised to provide a step by step tutorial to anyone who is interested in mod making so that people can make their own mods. But as of right now, I'm working on too many things and barely get enough time to play DOTA 2. I tried teaching the process to one guy in simple instrucitons but apparently the process is too confusing so I will include detailed instrucitons with pictures.
                          I also make sketches in part time so if any of the blog follower is a 3D artist and wants to make items for DOTA 2 workshop, let me know. I can send you a few concepts and sketches and we can start working rightaway. I have recently started learning Blender and ZBrush, so hopefully I wont be too useless in creating models either.

We have here another of the overused model "blink dagger". Well the model is simple and easy to make and relevant to so many heroes, so its no surprise there are so many submissions of this item in Dota2 workshop. personally, its one of my least favorite cosmetic items but then again, i'm not exactly impressed by them unique items either so. While playing as Vengeful Spirit, have you ever wondered why her 3rd skill Vengeance Aura has a picture of red mask? Thats because once upon a time, Vengeful model ACTUALLY wore a badass mask. Now that was some originality and I dunno why but it really felt right. Ofcourse you cant please the whole community. As majority disliked the model as a whole so Valve just removed the mask instead of redesigning the hero and everyone was fine with it EXCEPT the modders. They kept the old mask intact.
                                        This mod includes the older models that were replaced due to community reaction.  I personally liked the Phantom Assassin and Brewmaster  model. Let me know which model you like in the comments.

Dota2 went through alot of changes in its 3 years of beta. Some of the earlier models were received negativley so valve changed them. Hero models are actually quite subjective in nature. People were in love with dota1 model of Shadowfiend which was nothing but a black texture over a simple model. Some people actually liked that model, if you are one of those, here are the files for changing the current one to the old one. Includes different attack projectile, different standing animation, raze effects and ultimate effect. Also included is old Spectre weapon, a ring of light instead of actual blade.

Found a Juggernaut mod on some japanese website. It replaces Juggernaut with anime character Saber (by replacing, I mean voice,ingame pictures,icons everything. As if juggernaut never existed ingame). Even though I'm not an anime fan, I still like it.
(I didn't make this mod, if you find any bugs and problems, don't ask me for help)
